The film stars Rishi Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. The music for the film was composed by Bappi Lahiri. There are six songs in the film.
Story
Rishi Kapoor plays the role of a young boy who is raised in an orphanage in the United States by a kindly elderly couple. He is visited by a beautiful girl who claims to be a distant relative. She also shows up at his school and makes friends with him and the two fall in love. The boy, however, is unable to decide whether he wants to marry the girl. He finally decides to return home, and when he arrives at the orphanage, he finds that his foster parents have abandoned him because he is an embarrassment to them. He therefore leaves home to look for the girl he loves. He finds her to be a poor woman who works as a bar dancer. They decide to run away together and travel to Bombay, where she is to have a stage show.
However, at the train station, the boy is picked up by a mysterious man (Gulshan Grover) who takes him to a luxurious villa, where he is hired as a personal assistant to a young, wealthy woman (Kareena Kapoor). The man is revealed to be the girl's father and he had been keeping an eye on the boy all along. The boy is welcomed by the housemaid, whom he has fallen in love with. He returns to the girl after several adventures and they marry.

The film's soundtrack was composed by Bappi Lahiri and the lyrics were penned by Vishwambharan. The original soundtrack of the film was released on Audio Cassette in 1989. The songs were later compiled in the album, Melody of Romance, which was released in 1996.
